Lyocell and modal can both support soft, comfort-led products, but the fiber name alone does not determine the finished garment. Yarn, blend, construction, dyeing and finishing all shape the result.
For loungewear, begin with drape, surface polish and care expectations. For underwear or T-shirts, add recovery, dimensional stability and how the fabric behaves against the skin. A reference fabric helps translate subjective words such as soft or fluid into a useful development target.
The final selection should also reflect the commercial brief: width, weight, volume, required documentation and the process route available for the target color or print.
